2025 "Genomics for Health" Webinar Series
Connecting Global Community of Genomics and Health Science
Connecting Global Community of Genomics and Health Science
A thought leadership webinar series for academic researchers, industry professionals, and healthcare practitioners to come together and explore how genomics is reshaping the future of healthcare.
The “Genomics for Health” webinar series is a unique forum for academic researchers, industry professionals, and healthcare practitioners to come together and explore how genomics is reshaping the future of healthcare. From prediction and prevention to diagnosis and treatment — including drug development — this series highlights genomics’ transformative role in empowering patient-centered care.
Developed by Vijay Tiwari (University of Southern Denmark) and Marc Sultan (Roche), the webinar series aims to inspire a global audience to harness the potential of genomics for innovation in healthcare.
Professor. Sarah Teichmann
In this webinar, Sarah Teichmann, professor of stem cell medicine at the University of Cambridge and co-founder and co-leader of the International Human Cell Atlas Consortium, will discuss how her lab harnesses cutting-edge single-cell and spatial genomics to better understand this cellular diversity — specifically how distinct microenvironments regulate cell identity. The lab’s spatial atlas of the adult human heart includes the first comprehensive map of the conduction system, and it harnessed the unique molecular signature of the very rare pacemaker cells to make predictions about potential drug activities.
Webinar 1: February 11, 2025, 4.00 PM CET
The second and third webinars of the series have been scheduled. Please save the date and stay tuned for infomration on speakers and session topics. Additional webinars will be scheduled throughout the year.
The "Genomics for Health" webinar series will be hosted by Marc Sultan and Vijay Tiwari, who will offer unique perspectives on how academia and industry can work together to advance genomics in precision medicine, driving meaningful conversations and actionable insights.
Vijay Tiwari is a professor and the head of research at the Institute of Molecular Medicine at the University of Southern Denmark. He is a renowned academic expert in gene regulation and genomics, with a distinguished career in uncovering how genomic and epigenomic mechanisms influence health and disease. His innovative research bridges fundamental science and its translational potential in medicine.
Marc Sultan is the head of Genetics and Genomics in Pharma Research and Early Development (pRED) at Roche. He is a seasoned leader in the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors, bringing extensive expertise in leveraging genomics for drug development and clinical trials.
